Pre-Med Majors
USP is the ideal place for you to begin your pre-med studies because our primary focus is the study of the sciences and health sciences. Medical, dental and veterinary schools often place a premium on applicants with degrees in the sciences. Students who have been successful in these rigorous curricula may be seen as having demonstrated potential to succeed in medical school.
You may choose virtually any of our majors, and can wait until the end of your freshman year to do so. USP will provide the tools and skills needed to prepare you for admission to any allopathic (MD), osteopathic (DO), dental, veterinary, podiatry or optometry school in the country.
Pre-Dental
Become better prepared for dental school through the science-based curriculum at USP. You’ll also benefit from the consistent guidance and support of our faculty and pre-professional advisors. Our advisors will help you decide the best courses to take, how to prepare for admission testing and what path you should follow to show your educational and experiential pre-dental training to your best advantage.
Pre-Veterinarian
In the highly competitive veterinary school environment, you’ll want to enter a pre-vet program that can prepare you for the admissions process and advise you on the right curriculum choices for your career goal. Along with providing a rich science education, USP offers the guidance of our pre-professional advisors, who understand what you need to do to be accepted into veterinary school. Our location near the University of Pennsylvania’s veterinary medicine facilities allows you to volunteer and gain critical hands-on experience with animal patients.
