Accelerated Degree Program with the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
USP’s 7-Year Accelerated Degree Program with the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine could help you make a direct entry to medical school.
Our special arrangement with PCOM guarantees ten seats each year for qualified USP students. If you complete the accelerated program, you earn both bachelor of science and doctor of osteopathy degrees.
Students qualify for the program by completing a series of steps while studying at USP. Although this list of requirements may at first glance seem daunting, you are prepared and coached by your advisors every step of the way to help you achieve your goals:
- Notify your pre-med advisor and apply for consideration before the end of your freshman year at USP.
- You will be asked to participate in an interview process.
- You will be required to maintain a 3.3 GPA as a freshman at USP.
- You will be required to maintain at least a 3.5 in your second and third years at USP, with no grade lower than a B-minus.
- Your SAT scores should total 1150 (for critical reading and math). If you chose to take the ACT, your composite score should be 25 or higher.
- During your third year at USP, you’ll take the Medical College Admission Test and interview again with PCOM.
