Business and Teaching Experience:
Professor Votta earned his MBA in management from St. Joseph’s University and is currently a PhD candidate in Health Policy Administration at USP. Prior to becoming a faculty member in 1988, he was employed for more than 12 years in the insurance industry serving in the areas of Accounting, Human Resources, Sales and Underwriting and acquired a Pennsylvania sales license in Life, Accident and Health Insurance. He acted as a Distance Learning consultant for Pierce College and has ten years experience as a Distance Learning professor in Business Law and Management.
He previously was an Adjunct Professor at the following educational institutions:
- West Chester University
- Penn State University
- Cabrini College
- Pierce College
- Wilmington College

Research continues in the Health Policy Graduate Program with emphasis in the following areas:

- Pharmaceutical Advertising
- Corporate Social Responsibility
- Health Policy Legislation
Teaching Philosophy:
As course coordinator, he teaches management related courses for the Doctoral Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Marketing/Management programs. He uses varied methods of instruction and has embraced the concept of learning-centered teaching. His strategies for improving the learning process include specialized research topics, developing fictitious firms, and the use of an innovative stock project reflecting the actual business world. He has also taken efforts to keep project teams small in order to promote more individualized contributions.
Student evaluations reflect his enthusiasm for teaching and a willingness to help students succeed with an emphasis on creating a comfortable learning environment.
