University of the Sciences in Philadelphia is located in area of Philadelphia that boasts strong tradition, picturesque surroundings and a true college experience that many students desire. USP is nestled in University City, which is home to more than 30,000 students who attend one of the six colleges and universities located in the area.

USP students enjoy University City’s plethora of tree-lined residential areas, restaurants, cafes, shops and Clark Park, a nine-acre town green across from the university that is the site for many recreational activities, as well as neighborhood and citywide festivals and events.

And, of course, the bustling excitement of the City of Brotherly Love always surrounds and influences the University. If you desire a trip to the Philadelphia Art Museum, an excursion to Philly’s famous South Street or a trip to one of the area’s cheese steak or hoagie shops, it is only minutes away from campus.

Philadelphia is also rich in history and culture. You can see this by visiting the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall or one of the many diverse museums, such as the Philadelphia Art Museum or the Mutter Museum.

The city is a hub of pharmacy, biotechnology, medical and scientific research. The Delaware Valley region, where Philadelphia is located, is the headquarters for many major biopharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The region is also home to a large and diverse group of hospitals, medical centers and health agencies. Philadelphia ranks fifth in overall regional National Institute of Health (NIH) funding.
